I always find it
interesting, when people
try and put God into a
box and wrap Him up,
with a pretty bow.
Solomon built a great
Temple, but Solomon
realized that God was
much bigger than anything,
man might create.
The Jews tried to keep God in the Holy of Holies, in that way God would not
affect their daily lives. Christians do the same thing by trying to keep God in their
sanctuary or Church building, and not have God affect their lives or business dealings.
This same philosophy has been carried over into our politics. Regardless of
whether you lean politically towards liberal, conservative, libertarian, independent,
or any other political belief, people want to think that God agrees with their politics.
When I read the scriptures, I find that God created us in His Image, not that we
created God in our image. That means that if we are Christians or non-christians,
a major part of us, is a reflection of The Creator that created us.
That means that, no matter our political leaning, God is there, if we allow Him
to be. No matter the political party we are affiliated with, God is there, if we allow
Him to be.
The hard part for us, as humans, is to put Christ into all we do, including our
political leanings. If we are truly Christians, then Christ permeates into every cell,
into every thought of our being. Our politics can not be separated from our
Christianity, because being a Christian is a life changing commitment to Father,
Son and Holy Spirit.
As Christians, we don't get to leave Christ at the door of our polling place and
go into vote, without God knowing, whom we voted for and why. Jesus Christ
is beside us, when we vote. The Holy Spirit is inside us, when we vote. God is
watching over us, when we vote.
As we approach another election in the US of A, don't leave your Christianity
in the car, as you go into the polling place to vote.
Proudly take Christ with you into the voting booth. It will be a life changing
experience for you. It will also be a spiritual experience for you and our country.
Pray and listen to God, before you vote!
