Walking the Tightrope

Walking a tightrope is one of the most dangerous occupations anyone
could have. A one inch strand of wire between you and the ground, all
while suspended 30, 60, 100 or more feet in the air. The greats on the
high wire, tell people it's a matter of keeping your eye on your target.
That target being the other platform. Taking your eye off the target, will
get you killed. Looking down will get you killed.
Paul talks about this concept as a race, where we keep our eyes on the
prize, Jesus Christ. Because, after all isn't that our ultimate goal, to be
Christ like, to be formed into the image of Christ.
To accomplish this goal, we must feed ourselves with the Word of
God. Our ultimate nourishment for our spiritual selves, is to feast on
God's Word, The Bible. The more we know of God's Word, the better
equipped we are to face the challenges of life, that will surely come our
way. Part of being Spiritually in shape, is feeding the soul with God's
nourishment.
Practice is another important part of getting prepared to walk the
tightrope of life. Use all the talent that God has given you, on a daily
basis. Letting our talents rust, instead of using them, will get them
taken away, much like the servant that buried his talent. After we have
fed ourselves on God's Word, we need to practice sharing God's Word
with others. This will not be comfortable at first, that's why a tightrope
walker practices at ground level, before they learn to fly on the high
wire. Get into the habit of being open with everyone about this wonder-
ful Savior that you have found.
The better you get with spreading God's Word, the more God will
open up doors of faith, for you to walk through. As you continue to
feed your spirit and The Holy Spirit with the vital nourishment of God.
God's lifeline will start to get farther and farther off the ground, as
you continue to trust in God and The Word. I still get chills whenever
I talk to others about Jesus Christ, I want to feel the Spirit moving with
every word. I still get chills, when the Spirit is using me to write these
blogs on a daily basis. I know that what I am saying is going to bless
some people, convict some people, start the healing process in some
people.
As long as we keep our eyes on Jesus Christ, we will not fall, we
will not fail, and Jesus Christ will be Glorified with our service to
The King of Kings, The Lord of Lords, Our Mighty God! Amen
