The Cost of Believing

The cost, the price, paid for every believer, was paid in
full at the cross. Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and every
drop of His precious blood, paid the price for sin.For all of
eternity everyones freedom from sin was bought.
Our only repayment, for the sacrifice that Jesus paid, is to
accept Him as Lord and Savior, that is just the beginning of
our service to the King of Kings. Jesus wants all of me. Jesus
wants all of you. The more of ourselves, we give, the greater
our freedom from sin.
The price of serving Jesus is different for everyone,
depending on what each of us is called to give. Some of us
will face ridicule and persecution, some of us will face execution,
some have watched and prayed as their family was taken from
them. Jesus never promised us an easy road, but He did
promise that He would walk with us every step of the way.
Only John, the apostle, lived to die of old age. The others Apostles
were all killed in one grisly way or another. Peter was crucified
upside down because he requested it. Peter didn’t consider
himself worthy of dying like Christ. Most of the apostles were
beheaded for their faith.
This still goes on today, people can choose to renounce
Christianity and live or continue to believe in Christ and die.
While most of us will never be faced with this gruesome choice,
still we must be prepared for it. We never know when our lives
might be required for The Masters service.
