There is all kinds of pain in this world, but the one sure thing is that pain
always hurts. This pain can come in all forms, physical, emotional,
phycological and spiritual. Each of these forms of pain is caused by a single
event, a combination of events, or even an accumulation of events.
Each of these types of pain has there own healing processes, and each
of the healing processes involve pain for recovery. This hurting originated
with mankind's sin in the Garden of Eden. Up until then, there was no pain
and no suffering.
Today, pain is a part of our everyday lives, it is a part of Satan's war chest
to be used against man. Satan uses pain to both hurt us and control us. Almost
all of our actions and reactions stem from either pain in our past or pain we
are suffering with now. Pain is a very powerful weapon.
In my ministry, with recovery, I have dealt with a lot of pain that has been
carried from childhood into adulthood. Abuse of any kind carries it's own
special pain. When this kind of pain happens, our emotional growth stops.
That is how we end up 30 & 40 year old people, that act like 4 year olds.
We have all seen it, though we have never thought about the cause.
It is hard and it takes time to build a person's emotional age up close to
their chronological age. Addicts of any kind, regardless of the pain killer,
drugs, alcohol, sex, eating,.... are all stuck at an emotional age. They know
that there is a major struggle going on inside of them. It is almost like a
parent/child relationship in one body. This struggle causes physical and
emotional pain, so the addict picks a drug of choice to medicate with.
A book called, "Home Coming, Reclaiming and Championing Your
Inner Child" was a great help to me when I started my own recovery
process from being abused at the age of eight. It allowed me to understand
my struggle and allowed me, to let God heal me from my addiction.
Regardless of the pain that you are currently going through, God is
walking through that valley with you. We will have a time with no more
pain and no more suffering. Until then, if you need me, write to me at
akers-enterprises@att.net my wife and I will help you and guide you to
getting help from someone in your area.
God never wants us to struggle alone, but Satan does!
