Old & New Testament Baptism

Most people, including most Christians, don't realize, that baptism is a part of
Old Testament Law  as well as the New Testament baptisms of John and later by
the Apostles. In Leviticus 22 versus 6&7, the cleansing of any defiled Jew is
done with water. This cleansing was done by the priests, in order for the the
defiled person to partake in Jewish Holy activities.
These cleansings were done as a testimony that a person was now able to
participate in traditional Jewish activities. This cleansing was also done when
pagan was brought into Judaism as a way for other Jews to realize that a
pagan was now a Jew.
We can see that this tradition of baptism is not new, when the people come
out in crowds to be baptized by John the Baptist. The people all ready
understood that John was offering them cleansing from their sins. The
baptism that Jesus and His Apostles instituted, not only washed sins away,
but also brought with it the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Baptism has always been looked upon as the first declaration testimony of
a new Christian. Baptism, being done in front of other Christians, is a witness
of a New Creation for others to celebrate, along with the Angels in Heaven.
