We All Fall

We all fall, at some point in time. I am not saying that is a good thing, but it
is inevitable. It is a part of our human condition. We never get used to how weak
we are as human beings. We also have short memories about our weaknesses.
Paul was told by God that God's grace was sufficient for Paul's weaknesses.
We hate the feeling of helplessness, but in our helplessness, God is able to show
His strength, because we finally get out of God's way.
I love to play and watch sports, luckily for me I have a wife who shares my
passion for sports. In sports, you practice and practice before you ever play the
game. The reason for all that practice, is to replace the delay of thinking before
acting. We want our play to be second nature as opposed to a conscious
decision. Being able to relax and play at the same time, cuts down on our brain
having to consciously think, to having to weigh the options.
The better an athlete is at relaxing and playing naturally, the better the athlete
is able to use his athletic ability. It works the same way in Christianity, The better
we are at relaxing and being open to God's will, the easier life becomes for us.
As we learn to let God have control of our lives, we also learn to relax in our
Father's arms. Our falling is always a result of us following our thinking, as
opposed to letting God have control of our lives. Our errors, fumbles, bricks, and
misses are all a part of training in God's Army.
Do we ever get it all perfect, not in this lifetime?
But our Heavenly Father is patient with us, He knows our constant practice
will lead us to the Perfect, Jesus Christ. And after all, isn't that what being a
Christian is all about!
