is more concerned about themselves than anyone or anything else. We can see this
in our politics, our schools, our businesses, and even in our work force.
What's in it for me? Appears to be everyones first question, when asked to do
anything. The selfishness of our society, is the reason for all the messes we find
ourselves in today.
I remember setting up dominoes on their ends, one domino behind another
domino until all the dominoes are lined up. If you have done everything properly,
if you push the first domino into the second domino a chain reaction starts and they
all fall down. It only takes one domino not lined up properly to destroy the whole
thing.
God could look at us this way, God can have everything lined up for a person
to be saved. It just takes one person that is not willing to do their part, to mess
everything up. This happens in families, churches, businesses, countries, and
politics. One bad apple, one person more concerned about themselves than their
fellow human being can hurt a lot of people.
God, thankfully, cares about us. God loves us. He strives to take care of us, with
our best interest at heart. God sent Jesus to this earth to sacrifice Himself for all of
us. God, unselfishly, gave everything for our eternity.
When we choose to fight in God's Army, it is up to each one of us, to hold onto
God's hand and stay in line. It is our job to daily climb up on our alter of sacrifice
to God. As a living sacrifice to God, we are supposed to be dead to ourselves. The
old selfish us, is gone and a new creation is born.
When we forget to stay on our alter to God, that is where the trouble starts.
When we lose sight of God, God's Masterpiece becomes paint spatter.
