One Generation Away

    We are always, only one generation away from anything. What we are one
generation is up to the current generation. God taught this to us in both the Old
Testament and the New Testament. He also gave us examples, not only in scripture,
but also throughout history.
    Solomon, while very wise and very rich, failed to run a disciplined house, both
religiously and while raising his children. The shear number of wives, concubines,
and children, would make this difficult, if not impossible. But when you throw into
the mix numerous pagan religions as well as Judaism you have a house of chaos.
    Rehoboam, Solomon's son, being the spoiled child that he was, instigated a
new tax that succeeded in splitting Israel into two kingdoms.
    We see this scenario over and over throughout history, a father builds a great
kingdom, the children destroy it. Look at Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, his
son partied and lost the kingdom.
    Stalin came to power in one generation. Hitler came to power in one generation.
Castro came to power in one generation. The list goes on and on.
    It only takes one generation of God's People not being diligent in the discipline
of their families and their communities to have chaos of this world. One generation to
take over their house and their country. We are always, only one generation away,
from not being able to worship God in liberty and freedom. Look how much we
have all ready lost as Christians.
    One generation can lead us away from God.
    One generation can lead us back to God. I want to be a part of the generation
leading us back to God.
