The Weight

The weight of sin is a heavy weight, that only gets heavier and heavier, with time
and the added depth of our sin. Satan uses this weight against us, making it almost
impossible for us to get out from under the weight of our sin.
Satan, if he is allowed to, will weight us down with guilt and sorrow. His ultimate
goal is our demise.
Jesus, can forgive us, and will forgive us, if we ask Him to. He will swoop down
like, a mighty eagle, and pick us up, out of the lake of sin.
I love to watch eagles, especially bald eagles, documentaries and in real life. As a
truck driver, I have watched as eagles glide over the surface of the water, let their
talons drop down and grab a fish out of a lake. The weight of the fish and the
resistance of the water put a drag on the eagles air speed, then you see the eagles
strength kick into high gear, as the wings start to beat harder and harder, until the
eagle gets the lift it needs to break the resistance.
Picture the lake as sin, and the eagle as Jesus, the scenario is the same. We are
stuck in this lake of sin, that Satan and us have created. We struggle to pull
ourselves out of this lake, and we get close to the surface of the lake, but can't
break free. One day we get close to the surface, as Jesus is gliding over the water,
and we say save me Jesus, and He reaches down and grabs hold of us. Though we
don't realize it, Satan is still resisting and the struggle of pulling us out of our sin
begins, but it doesn't last long, as the Savior with all His might builds up speed to
pull us out of the lake of sin
Jesus, can forgive us, and will forgive us, if we ask Him to. He will swoop
down like, a mighty eagle, and pick us up, out of the lake of sin. Jesus's strength
can overcome anything that Satan can throw at Him. We just need to put ourselves
in His grasp and Jesus will lift us higher than we have ever been.
Jesus is still fishing for men and women, just reach up and grab on!
