to places you'd never imagine, if you let Him. The walk may seem lonely at times
but He is always there. He will pick you up, if you stumble, and wait for you if
you fall.
He is closer than any blood relative that you have. Closer than a best friend, He
has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. He is always there beside us, His
Spirit always inside of us.
When we are weak, He is our strength. In fact, God flourishes in our weakness
as we let Him take control of our lives. The greatest miracles in my life, have
happened when I am weakest.
Let me give you an example, a few years ago, I suffered from a severe bought
of depression. Both my parents were gone, deaths started occurring all around me.
And I just couldn't handle it anymore. Between my wife and I, there were ten deaths
in less than eighteen months. I sang at each one, either live or on tape.
As the singer in the family, you have to stuff your grief, so that others can grieve.
The deaths seemed like they were coming so fast, I couldn't process them any more.
I lost my ability to sing, as the emotional toll overtook me, the passion for song just
quit.
I told my therapist that I felt like I was face down, prostrate before my God, and
He had His foot on me, saying stay down, I have a lesson for you to learn. That
was the hardest lesson I have ever had to learn, at the foot of God's throne.
I was totally helpless, as God started to work in my life as never before. Not
because God hadn't tried before, I never stayed still and listened. Believe me
I listened this time, as God started to transform my life into a tool to be used by
Him.
As this transformation took place, my voice returned, my zest for life started to
come back, and I started feeling better than I ever had before. I wish I could say
that it's been all roses since then, but it hasn't and besides roses have thorns any
way to keep us in line, right.
Remember in our weakness is God's greatest strength!
