Humbleness and Power

As Christians we are charged with the power of The Holy Spirit
and yet we are supposed to be humble, not only before God but
also before man. This causes us dilemmas in our presentation of
Christ before mankind.
We see, in Jesus and His Apostles, this calm assurance of how,
I can do all things through Christ, that strengthens me, works. We
struggle with this balance between power and humbleness, and yet
we have witnesses to it, in both The Old and New Testament.
Elijah and Elisha with the mantle of sheep skin and hair that they
wore, not only for personal comfort, but as a sign of God's chosen
prophets. They walked around with the humbleness to do God's
bidding and with the power to ask God to do something, and the
faith and knowledge that God would grant their request.
We see this again in the church, starting in Jerusalem, this calm
that comes over those that believe in God. The Apostles, even in
the worst of circumstances, had this peace that surrounded them.
Christians today need to be tapped into the Power of Christ in
all that we say and do. We need to be able to talk and communicate
with others, and yet have that humble spirit that allows God to shine,
in us and through us.
Humbleness, when you know that you have the answer is difficult.
It takes enormous self control. Knowing that the Power of God is
coursing through your body and there are times that you would love
to unleash it against your enemies, and yet, knowing that God wants
us to be meek and humble, totally in His Devine control.
In our society, we have lost this concept of meekness. Meekness
is power under control. A horse can easily kill or injure a man, but
there is nothing like riding a properly trained horse. To have all that
power, all that speed, sitting under you, that is the idea of meekness.
Us, with the Power of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of each one of
us, ready to jump, as God leads us and directs us. Waiting, always
waiting, for God to say GO!
