going on with this man digging a hole.
GOD said, "What are you doing down there?"
The man replied, "Digging my way out of trouble." all the while, throwing shovel
full after shovel full out of the hole.
GOD sat there for a while, on the edge of the hole, finally HE asked, "Can I help
you out?"
The man replied, "No thanks, I've been digging myself out for years."
GOD sat there a while longer, the dirt was no longer coming out of the hole,
because it was too deep. GOD said, "Are you sure I can't help you out?"
The man finally realizing that the dirt was up to his waist, and being the
"smart man" that he was, said, "GOD HELP ME!"
GOD calmly reached down and pulled the man out of the hole, he had dug for
himself.
This, my friends, is an example of man's futility without putting GOD first.
Why do we have to dig the hole, before we ask for GOD's help
THE GAMBLE
What's in it for me?
Do I have to be a Christian right now?
Can't I wait till I'm older, to be good?
Everyday is a gamble, on the way to work, at work, driving home, taking
a shower, eating, sleeping. We have no idea, of our last day here on this earth.
We don't know when our heart will stop beating. We don't know when we will
take our last breath.
Everyday on this earth is a gift from GOD. HE leaves the decisions up to us
on what we do. We get the choice of whether to follow GOD'S PLAN for our
lives or to go another way. We get to choose between, stopping to help someone
or to keep on going. We get to choose what we watch, G, PG, PG-13, R, X.
If you get down to the basics of life, we get to choose life or death everyday.
To be a Christian, or not to be a Christian, that is the question. Excuse me
Shakespeare for changing a line! We face this question daily and yet, Christianity
is a long journey, lived by putting days together, living for GOD. We stumble
sometimes, in fact, there are times we fall flat on our face. Christianity is lived in
the now, lived for today, because tomorrow may never happen for us.
Choosing not to be a Christian is the biggest gamble of your life. Choosing not
to believe in GOD, leaves us believing in man. Ponzi was a man that people
believed in, and he took their money. Jim Jones was a man, a preacher, that
people believed in, until he made that deadly cool-ade and had his followers
drink it. We have best friends that fail us sometimes, and yet choosing to
believe in man, over God, is a gamble. As a former addict, I can truthfully say,
I couldn't even trust the man in the mirror to make good decisions.
One last point, if, and that's a big if, a non-christian dies and is buried, he
has placed his bet. If he is wrong about eternity it will be HELL. If a Christian
dies and is wrong about eternity, he stays in the ground. If GOD'S WORD
is true, eternity in HEAVEN.
I choose to trust GOD. I have no doubts that HIS WORD is true, so I win.
What about you?
Remember life is a gamble, choose wrong and there is HELL to pay!
