Christmas is a wonderful time of year. We don't really realize how
tiring and stressful it is, until we arrive at the day after Christmas, the
26th of December.
What do you do?
All of the Christmas rush is over, all the presents have been opened
and been brought home. Some will get put away immediately, some, at
least at my house, will get gradually put away.
You come home and relax for a little bit, then the fatigue starts to set
in, as the stress and strain from another Christmas season is over.
While all the excitement of Christmas is going on, did you take time
to reflect on what we were celebrating. Jesus birth, regardless of what
day it occurred, started the salvation process for you and I. Without His
prophet fulfilling birth, we would not have His example of how to live.
Without Christ living, we could never have His death and resurrection.
Our faith, our belief, starts with Mary, Joseph, and a little babe in
Bethlehem of Judea. A small town, close to Jerusalem, becomes the
central place for a religion that has helped change the world.
Christianity, is different from every other religion, in that our leader,
our Savior, our King is still alive. Every other religion is tied into people
that are buried and people can worship at their tombs. In Christianity, we
worship because Jesus tomb is empty. Our promise of life after death, is
tied to an eternal Savior.
And to think, it all started with a baby.
