has always taken care of His peoples needs. The Israelites were fed manna and
quail while wondering in the wilderness. Their sandals did not wear out, and
God provided water for them to drink.
Jesus gave everything, including His life for all of us. Knowing that most
people would never accept the gift of eternal life. Jesus gave it all expecting
nothing from us, but at the same time praying that all would accept His gift.
As a Christian, that is how we need to approach our giving, expecting nothing
in return for our giving. We give, out of a want to help others. This giving is
a reflection of Christ in us. It is a chance to show others what Christ has done
for us.
To give, is a reward in itself, as we help those in our community, both
Christian and non-christian, with the necessities of life. Those of us that have
worked in recovery programs, know the joy of helping someone overcome
their weaknesses. Not only that, but we create a support for each other, because
we al fall sometimes.
Watching as others are helped by us, rewards us by the smile we see, the joy
that we have been a part of, even if just for a fleeting amount of time. It builds
in us a want to do more attitude. That is an attitude that Christ through us can
do many great things.
These acts of kindness give us opportunities to tell others of our Lord and
