on. It requires us to live and act like Christ in all our endeavors. While we
will never be perfect, we can try to live as Christ.
Christian living requires a knowledge of the Bible, not just the high
points, but a working and studied view of all aspects of scripture. Jesus used
scripture to both bring people to Himself, but also as a way to chastise the
religious leaders of His day. Jesus did not just have a few favorite scriptures
memorized, but could recite many scriptures. This is possible for us today
through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will bring, what we have studied
to our minds at the proper time. We just have to study first!
Christian living also requires us to deal with the lost and afflicted. We don't
get to just throw money at the problem, through charitable or government
payouts, but we need a hands-on approach. Jesus mingled with those that
were hurting, He interacted with them, He comforted them. Jesus took the
time and the energy to look at those He helped, and sometimes people just
need a listening ear or an arm around their shoulder.
Christian living requires us to be willing to die for our faith on a daily
basis. Christ needs to be our first priority, the others in our lives have to
be satisfied with second place. That puts a strain on relationships, but it
is necessary to keep the Word of God moving and in motion in our society.
It would be very easy to relax, but we have to be prepared and willing to
spread the Good News whenever the opportunity arises, at work, at home,
on vacation, when we pick up the phone. Christian living is a 24/7 job.
Christian living means accepting the challenge.
Christian living means that we have counted the cost, and accepted the
challenge.
