put a lot of thought into that statement, by our Master, or is it just another verse
that gets read, with out much thought.
A child, in a good home, knows that when they get hungry, a little cry, will get
them food. A child also knows Mom and Dad will take care of all their needs, from
bath time to bedtime, from early morning till late at night. A child is not burdened
with any of this worlds coming and goings.
I remember jumping into my Dad's arms from the roof of the house, I had faith
that he would catch me. I'm old enough to remember no seat belts, and riding
around in the back of a pick-up. As a kid, I had faith that my Dad wouldn't let
anything bad happen to me.
As adults we get all caught up in working and family, and that is how it should be.
But we lose the faith and blind trust that God will take care of us. God has promised
to take care of our every need, just as parents, take care of their children, if they love
them.
As Christians, that not only have Jesus Christ in our lives, but The Holy Spirit
in our lives, we are made more than conquerers in this life. Daniel, facing the lions
den, had child like faith, that God would protect him. David, facing Goliath, had
child like faith that God would protect him. There are many instances in the Old
Testament of child like faith.
We, that have Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us and active in our lives, should give
us even more faith and blind trust that God will take care of us, but I think the adult
in us, gets in the way. I think the adult in us steals our faith, because we have seen it
all and done it all. We rely on ourselves and fail miserably as Christians, we rely on
ourselves, and fail to hear God's call, saying JUMP, I'LL CATCH YOU.
The child in us, can hear God's call, that is why we have so much internal turmoil
in us.
The child in us wants to obey and do whatever God wants us to do.
The adult in us says, that can be dangerous, I might get hurt.
The child in us says God will protect us no matter what happens.
The adult in us says there are gangs and thugs down there.
The child in us says, God said JUMP, I'M JUMPING! and starts to.
The adult in us says, wait a minute, let's talk about this.
The child is JUMPING, the adult is waiting, is it any wonder that we miss the
mark! Is it any wonder that we fall flat on our face! Is it any wonder that people
don't believe us!
