If you read the book of Ecclesiastes, you could come to that conclusion.
Solomon, by far one of the richest men, the world has ever seen. Writes about
how unfulfilled he is with 1,000 women, gold by the tons, silver by the hundreds
of tons, beautiful palace, a country that adored him. All this was still not enough
to satisfy him.
GOD blessed him with wisdom beyond measure, wealth and fame,
and he got bored and wrote a book about it.
Even stranger still, these are the exact things we chase to make us happy. In
fact this may explain why we, Americans, are always wanting more, more money,
bigger cars, bigger houses, and yet we, like Solomon, want more.
Are we Christians, any better ? NO
WE argue over stupid things. The softness of the pews, while most of the
world worships GOD in the open or under a tree.
WE debate the color of the carpet, while most of the world has only dirt floors.
WE debate over what color to paint the building, while the world would be
glad to have a solid roof, just to sleep under.
JESUS said it was easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter the kingdom of GOD.
Maybe WE, Christians in America, should look in the mirror.
WE ARE THE RICH MAN, NOW WHAT !!!!
