THORN IN THE FLESH

    We know from reading Paul's writings that GOD left him afflicted with a thorn
in the flesh. GOD told Paul," MY GRACE IS ENOUGH FOR YOU!" As to what
that thorn was, we do not know, nor will I speculate.
                               Does this still happen today?
    I'm here to say, yes. There is not a day that goes bye, that a Christian doesn't deal
with pain or heartache. A case in point, my mom died from cancer. A good Christian
woman, churches prayed, family prayed, my mom went to be with GOD.
    We sometimes forget that GOD sees all of history at once.
HE knows us better than we know ourselves.
HE knows all of our weaknesses. HE knows all of our strengths.
    If I could, for one day, take all the pain my wife suffers away from her I would.
You see, my wife suffers with back pain from a head-on collision we were in, in 1988.
I know GOD can heal her, she has been prayed for by hundreds of people. I have
seen her cry herself to sleep. I have seen her laid up in bed.
    I have also seen her touch lives through her pain. Help a dying man, pray for
forgiveness, and go home to GOD that very night. I have watched her witness to
countless people and am always amazed at how GOD uses her to touch lives.
    Maybe Paul and my wife have a thorn in the flesh, so they will rest and take
care of themselves, simply because they have to.
    Maybe, just maybe, they suffer so the rest of us will try harder, I don't know.
    BLESSED LORD TAKE MY HAND, LEAD ME ON LET ME STAND
    I'M SO TIRED, I'M SO WEAK, I AM WORN. THROUGH THE DAY,
           THROUGH THE NIGHT, LEAD ME ON TO THE FIGHT. 
         BLESSED LORD TAKE MY HAND AND LEAD ME HOME.
