throwing a handful of seed out in a spray, then reaching back into
the bag for another handful.
That is exactly the way that Christians are supposed to spread
the love of Jesus, throw it out to everyone that we meet, regardless
of whether we think it will grow or not. I hate to say it, but what
we think will happen, has absolutely no bearing on what God can
do with a planted seed.
Jesus talks about a farmer sowing seed, and all the variables
involved in whether that seed grows or not, or for how long it
will grow, depending on the type of rock or soil it lands on. While
the farmer wants the biggest and best crop he can have. He is not
going to waste the time, to put one seed in the ground at a time, so
he just keeps on throwing.
Some of the Word of God, will take hold immediately, but most
we will never see or hear about, whether it grew or not. That is not
ours to worry about, that is strictly God's to take care of. God may
use some one else to water this person with His Word. He may even
use another Christian to weed Satan out from around this person, as
this person begins to question their eternal life. Use another Christian
to teach them about salvation and use another Christian to take their
confession of faith and baptize them.
This seed of faith might sit in the back of a persons mind for years,
waiting on that proper moment to pop into their consciousness. or it
may die with them. Once the people hear the Word, it is up to them,
their choice what they do with The Word.
Jesus came and said to them, " All authority has been given
to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you
always, to the close of the age." Matthew 28: 18-20.
