many Christians are afraid of. Paul in 1 Corinthians 12, talks about
gifts, that different members of The Church are blessed with.
We, in the Church are to act as One Body. Can you imagine 600
preachers competing for time behind the pulpit or to many teachers
in one classroom. Those things may sound funny, especially for any
of us that have been around the church for any length of time.
This would be the same as multi-headed or having octopus arms
on the body of the church. It might make a great horror film, but
definitely not what God has planned for His church. The same can
be said for healers in The Church.
First off, I am not talking about TV evangelists, I am talking about
people, in the Body of Christ, that have a special gift, from the Holy
Spirit. Some, because their faith is stronger than others in The Church,
are still given, or maybe a better word would be, are better able to tap
into the power of The Holy Spirit.
These people don't do it for fame or glory, but when they feel led by
God to pray for someone, to put oil on someone and join with others in
prayer, the power of the Holy Spirit is allowed to work in miraculous
ways. These people are better conduits of God's Power.
This does not make a healer, preacher, teacher, or any other part of
the Body of Christ any more or less important. We need all the Gifts of
The Spirit manifested in every congregation. If we have a manifestation
of the Holy Spirit missing in the Body of Christ, we are operating under
a handicap concerning Spiritual Warfare.
As we read through First Corinthians 12 it is easy to see how Satan
uses our Spiritual strengths and weaknesses to disrupt the work of
The Body of Christ. We need to work as an elite fighting force for
our Master, Jesus Christ. We need all of The Gifts of The Holy Spirit
working as one, well oiled machine, for God's Glory.
Do you know your Spiritual Gift?
Do you know how to use your Spiritual Gift in conjunction with
other peoples Spiritual Gifts? In other words, Do you play well with
others?
We can't all be Chaplains, Generals, Medics, Surgeons, in God's
Army. In fact, most of us will be the privates, corporals, and sergeants,
in the Body of Christ. All of us are important, in fact, the workers,
the privates, corporals, and sergeants in any service, make it possible
for the those with special training and skills, to do their jobs better.
We do all this for God's Glory! Amen
