Give Me Old Time Religion

   A lot of Christians
 are ashamed of our
 roots. They've grown
 up in fancy buildings,
 with air-conditioning
 and preachers that may
 be great speakers, but
 The church has lost that
 Holy Ghost Spirit
 burning in their belly.

People used to walk miles to get to a tent revival. Depending on the speaker,
some would travel for days and camp out around the revival area, until the
Revival was concluded.

God's word hasn't changed, God hasn't changed, in fact, those that are lost
and have that emptiness inside of their lives, haven't changed. They are still
hungry to fill that void in their lives, that only God can fill.

Christian's have changed! Christians have decided that they are tired of being
outcasts, different, persecuted by the world around them. I'm not talking about
all Christians, but for a vast majority, they have become a part of the world.
Jesus told the people of His day, and is still proclaiming to us, in todays church,
"If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me!" That has never meant, The Church,
will draw people to Jesus Christ, by being more like the world.

Look at your Facebook, My Space, Google + or any other social network that
you and your friends use. Look at the postings from both your Christian and
your non-christian friends.
Is there a difference in their posts?
Is Jesus Christ lifted up, so that men can be drawn to Him?
Or have Christians become so worldly, that you can't tell any more?

    We used to understand
 the separation from the
 world, that was necessary
for us to reach the world
 for Christ, and not become
 a part of the world.

Today, I think, the world doesn't see Jesus Christ in us, but the world sees a
reflection of itself. Instead of the saving grace, that can only be found in
Jesus Christ, the world is seeing less and less of a difference between the modern
church and itself.

The Church, the people that belong to The Church, should stand out from the
crowd. Jesus told us in The Sermon On the Mount, how to stand out in the crowd.
In fact Jesus told us, The Church, that our Happiness, our Blessedness depends on
us being different.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.http://www.biblegateway.com  Matt. 5:3-12 ESV

These Blessings come with the price of being different, standing out from
the crowd.
If your morals and faith are the same as the worlds, you are on a wide path,
perdition is your destination.
If there are very few traveling with you and you feel as if you are dodging
stones and arrows, you are on the right path, and Jesus walks beside you.
