A Little Girl Will Lead Them

We found out, last night, that a friends grand-daughter only had a short time
to live. The little girl is only 9 years old, and has been fighting cancer for quite
a while now. The doctors have helped to keep her alive, by doing everything
they could for this little girl. For her and her families privacy, I will just refer to
her as little girl.
This little girl has been in and out of cancer hospitals for a few years now.
She has been raised in a non-christian family by non-christian parents. She has
very seldom heard God's name, or of Jesus Christ for that matter. This little girl
has known for about the last month, that all the doctors can do, is try and keep
her comfortable. I can only imagine what it is like for someone that young to
have to face death, much less be the parent of a child that has spent so much
time fighting this deadly disease of cancer. Everything we hear, tells us that
there is a calm in this little girl that is un-imaginable.
She has been able to see some of her friends and to have her puppy near by
occasionally as the cancer has progressed. The doctors say that most of her cells
are cancerous, as her and her family prepare to move into a hospice house, so
that her last few days or weeks can be spent in a home style environment, and
still have 24 hr. nurses care.
Last Sunday this little girl woke up about 7:30 and told her parents that she
wanted to go to church, and that services started at 10:30. Her parents were
shocked, not only was it something that they never did, but they wondered how
she knew when services were. The little girl, took some medicine and went back
to sleep.
Close to 10:00 she woke up and once again asked to go to church. Her parents
had found out that a church, a block or two down the street from the hospital, did
indeed have services that started at 10:30. So they all got dressed, took all the
medicine they might need, and took her to church. While the family was there, they
said such a peace fell over the family, and to everyone in the families amazement,
the little girl knew the words to every song they sang. A miracle in itself, considering
she had never been to church. The family hung around inside the church for a time,
because they didn't want to lose this peace that they had found.
After service, back at the hospital the little girl said to her parents that she would
be going to heaven soon, and she knew that they would be there with her in a little
while, because heaven has no time. Again her parents were amazed, because
heaven was never mentioned in their house either.
This little girl, and what has been revealed to her, is a very spiritual awakening.
It reminds me of "Touched By An Angel" a show that used to be on T.V.
Angels have been ministering to this little girl and she has been passing that on to
her parents and siblings. I pray that one day they will be together again, with that
joy unspeakable and full of glory. In Heaven with the Angels and Our Lord!
