has some examples in the New Testament. In biblical times, God was
treated with a respect, that is unheard of in our day and time.
Is God not to be feared anymore?
Of course He is, our next heartbeat, our next breath, can be taken
away by God. Tomorrow is not promised to us, and yet we live each
day as if tomorrow is a certainty. George Burns, in his 90's said that
he read the obituaries every day, if his name wasn't found there, it
was going to be a good day.
As a Christian, that is a good way to live life. Every day is a blessing
from God, and yet we take each day for granted and expect more. Our
Heavenly Father, tells us the fields are white, unto harvest, but where
are my workers. We, are supposed to be God's servants, but we act
more like property owners.
God sent His Son to die for you and I. If any people owe God a
debt that can never be repaid, it is Christians. That is why we are
God's servants by choice. Christianity is not about sitting in a pew
on Sunday. Christianity is about realizing how much God loves us,
and doing all we can for The Master. Count it all joy, when you are
persecuted for my sake.
Most Christians, especially in the U.S., have no idea what persecution
looks like around the world. We have been so sheltered, that those
that are persecuted in the U.S. get three square meals a day, colored
T.V., bed, blankets, and claim cruel and unusual punishment if the
T.V. breaks.
We should always have a healthy fear of God as His children.
Just as a child should have a healthy fear of their parents. Maybe
that is where not only Christians, but society has failed. We have
adults and children that no longer respect or fear authority. We have
raised up a bunch of spoiled children and Christians that are no longer
afraid of what sin can do to a person.
God has everything in His Control. This life can be over in a split
second. We can fear God now, or fear the consequences when it's to
late to do anything about it. The choice, as always, is yours.
