Filling the Void

    Filling the void, in ourselves, that was intentionally left there by God, is easy, if we
fill it with God. We try everything under the sun, it seems, to fill this void, before we
turn to the one true answer, God.
    Satan has his counterfeits, all of them start with great promise, but leave us
hungry for more. As a former drug and alcohol user, I can tell you the first high is
the best high. The rest of the drug and alcohol ride to destruction, is chasing after
that first high experience again. We can chase that high for the rest of our lives and
never get close to that first high. Chasing it, is called addiction, you know, you've
heard it, I can quit whenever I want to, but you can't. You can chase a repeat of
your first high, till you die, and you will never feel it again. That's Satan's
counterfeit for the void in your life, left there intentionally for God.
    It doesn't matter which one of Satan's counterfeits you use, murder, robbery,
stealing, sex, gossip, lying, all of Satan's substitutes are useless to fill that void, in
our life for God.
    Jesus Christ, salvation, baptism, The Holy Spirit( God in us) are the only way to
fill that void. Jesus death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, are our only
path to fill that void.
    The biggest difference between Satan's counterfeit and being filled with God.
Satan's counterfeit fills your need the first time, and leaves you starving for more,
no matter how many times you use the counterfeit.
    God, through His Holy Spirit, fills us the first time and every time, day after day,
it just gets better. It is up to us to stay plugged into God's Power, prayer, reading
God's word, witnessing, anything that we can do, to keep connected to God. When
we begin to feel empty, it is because we moved, God didn't.
    When we begin to feel empty, is when we are most vulnerable to Satan's
counterfeits.
