Cleaning With Tears

The story is told in the Bible of a harlot washing Jesus feet with her tears and
precious oil poured from an alabaster box. The woman used her hair, her tears, and
most likely her life savings in oil to say thank you to The Master.
Washing peoples feet, was a job given to the lowest of servants, to wash the
dust off of a traveler's feet.
Jesus washed His disciples feet, to show how the kingdom would be built, from
servanthood and not from a throne. Humility is something that all people struggle
with. Humbleness is looked on as weakness in our society.
Superiority is thought of as an achievement, but in order to reach people,
many more are drawn to humbleness than being lorded over by someone. To
be truly humble, you become a servant to all. Jesus taught us to help others, from
a position of weakness, not strength. Jesus, as a servant for His Church, became
submissive unto death, for His People.
I can think of no greater honor to bestow on my King, than to bow at His Feet
and wash them with tears of thankfulness for all He has done. I will never be able
to repay Jesus, for all He has done for me.
