THOU ART THE MAN

Thou art the man, can you imagine what that would feel like. David was
confronted about his adultery with Bathsheba by the prophet Nathan.
Nathan told a story about a rich man that instead of using one sheep from
his own flock, took this families one lamb and butchered it for his feast. David
was outraged, and wanted to know who had done such a thing in Israel. Nathan
pointed his finger at David and said " Thou art the man. "
David was cut to the heart, and repented.
That is called discipline, GOD disciplined David, and it worked.
Matthew in the new testament, writes of discipline in the church. First, talk
to the person one on one to try and get the problem resolved. Second, take two
or three others with you to get it resolved. Third, take it before the church, let
them hear it and get it resolved. Fourth, if nothing works seperate them from
the body until they repent.
Do you know why church discipline doesn't work anymore, to resolve
conflicts ?
It is ashame that in todays modern churches, WE the BODY of Christ do not
have the "TIE THAT BINDS"  for the disciplined one easily replaces
HIS FAMILY of GOD and WE the CHURCH too easily get on with OUR lives.
I TRULY PRAY THAT " THE CHURCH " REALIZES THAT LOVE
AND DISCIPLINE WITH EACH OTHER IS AS IMPORTANT FOR
CHURCH GROWTH, AS GOD LOVING AND DISCIPLINING US
FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
