We find that often we get blessed more than they do. They still burn with that
Holy Spirit fire, you can see it in their eyes, hear it in their voices. They may be
hurting or confined in some capacity, but GLORY fills their thoughts and the
words they speak. They know their time is close at hand, but they are ready to
meet their old friends, make new ones, and best of all to meet JESUS.
I wish that we could have the peace and comfort in our salvation that they have.
That in itself would be life changing. It would free us up to do what ever GOD
wants us to do. With out the distractions, without the worries, this world can throw
at us.
In old testament times the elders of a community would sit at the main gate and
teach the younger adults from their experiences. We as Christians need to once
again tap into this resource. We need our older christians to once again, tell us
the stories of Jesus. Tell of HIS great love for us. Fill us with the miracles that
they have seen in their lifetime.
We as younger adults need to listen and heed their warnings. Let GOD's light
shine in us as it does in them. Feed on GOD's wisdom at their feet.
They are ready to go home to be with JESUS, GOD keeps them here, for a
time, to pass on their wisdom to us. Let us make good use of that time together.
